The tvCompass Digital Media Remote platform offers developers and exciting opportunity to leverage a powerful client / server architecture and develop cool and exciting applications based on the following technologies. Developers have an opportunity to contribute to the tvCompass Digital Media Remote suite of application to enhance the consumers’ living room experience.

Microsoft .NET Compact Framework V2

• Application execution and programming environment including a choice of language (C#, VB.NET and Java), garbage collection, object-oriented programming and threading
• Visual Studio 2003 for authoring, versioning and remote debugging
• Compact Framework libraries including Windows. Forms, collections, reflection, web service clients, sockets, file system access and XML
• The ability to add 4th party .NET libraries that are built for the Compact Framework
• Platform Invoke to call Windows CE.NET APIs

Flash

• Flash is a planned software bundle, licensable separately from Core. Implemented as an Application Host.
  Creation of FLASH based ‘movies’ [swf] can be created using standard Macromedia authoring tools.
• Flash version 7 is supported

Native Code Development

• Application portions can be written in native code (written directly to the Win CE v5.0 SDK for the platform) for legacy or performance reasons.
